Congratulations to Kathryn Bushley!! Kathryn is a postdoc in the lab and recently was offered and accepted an assistant professor tenure track position in fungal evolutionary biology in the Plant Biology Department at the University of Minnesota. She will officially start her position Jan. 1, 2014.
Good news. The Tolypocladium inflatum genome is published and available online. (PLoS Genet 9(6): e1003496. doi:10.1371/journal.pgen.1003496). The focus of this paper is the evolution, organization and expression of the cyclosporin biosynthetic gene cluster. Great job Kathryn!
Three new genomes - Cylindrobasidium torrendii (Agaricales, Basidiomycota), Rickenella mellea (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota), and Melanomma pulvis-pyrius (Pleosporales, Ascomycota) - were released as part of the 1000 Fungal Genomes Project. http://1000.fungalgenomes.org/home/
